Jane Briere
Manager

Jane A. Briere is currently the Manager of the University of West Florida Okaloosa/Walton County Small Business Development Center. She has been part of the UWF SBDC staff since 1986. Previously Jane held the positions of SBDC Assistant Manager and Energy Specialist. She received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Master of Business Administration degrees from UWF. Jane’s professional certifications include the designation of Certified Manager from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers, Energy Auditor from the Florida Governor’s Office and Certified Business Analyst from the Florida Small Business Development Center Network. Jane has been recognized for her work with the small business community with the 1999 ABWA Business Associate of the Year Award and also in 1999 was inducted into the Okaloosa County Women’s Hall of Fame by the Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women.

Tom Hermanson
 Assistant Manager, Okaloosa & Walton Counties

Tom Hermanson specializes in business planning, acquisition and finance. Tom is an instructor and counselor, recognized for program impact and success in assisting small business clients. Tom is a Certified Business Analyst and Accredited Business Appraiser. He has experience in research and development, product innovation, and operations management.

Sharon Triplett
Certified Business Analyst

Sharon Triplett is a Certified Business Analyst with the Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida in Fort Walton Beach.  Sharon’s previous experience includes over 20 years experience in small business management.

  • Facility Management

  • Human Resource Management

  • Contract Management.

Sharon has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of West Florida.

James Snider
Certified Business Analyst

Jim is a Certified Business Analyst at the SBDC office in Fort Walton Beach. He joined the SBDC staff in May 2007.   He is a retired Air Force veteran and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004 where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management, with a concentration in Small Business/Entrepreneurship. 

After graduating Jim worked as a self-storage site manager as well as a contracting specialist at Robins Air Force Georgia. He is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Administration program at UWF.
